Alan has more than 38 years of experience in the financial services industry and is a Certified Financial Planner™ professional. CFP® certification is one of the most respected financial planning credentials among consumers and the recognized standard of excellence in personal financial planning. He holds his Series 3, 7, 8, 63 and 65 securities licenses and is registered in 31 states, including Alaska.Alan’s strength is working alongside local business owners, high-net-worth clients and retirees, whether it’s helping plan their retirement, wisely investing or providing multigenerational financial planning. He establishes, implements, monitors, evaluates and updates financial plans according to the ever-changing needs and desires of his clients. It begins with an investment strategy and financial planning meeting, followed by structured and scheduled client interactions, either in person or over the phone depending on each client’s location and needs.
Before transitioning his team to Raymond James in October 2020, Alan worked at Wedbush Securities in Fairbanks, Alaska. He began his investment career in Fairbanks at Foster & Marshall/American Express, then moved to Ragen Mackenzie, Inc., which was acquired by Wells Fargo in 2000. Alan was a top producer at Wells Fargo before moving to Wedbush Securities in 2004, where he was a President’s Club producer for 16 straight years. He is a graduate of the University of Alaska and holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics.
Dedicated to his community, Alan is a charter member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Fairbanks. He is also a past member of many organizations, including the University of Alaska Foundation Investment Committee, the Chamber of Commerce Board, the University of Alaska Alumni Board, Fairbanks Rotary, and two local financial institutions.
